Sanjeevan Ayurved - Heritage
It was the pre-independence era. Allopathic medicines were unaffordable for the common man. The unavailability of certain Ayurvedic medicines and the overuse of others often led to undesirable effects. These factors triggered the idea of a more comprehensive, simple, and affordable system of medicine in the mind of Shri Yeshwant K. Paranjape (Swami Samvinanda Saraswati), a learned Vedic scholar and philosopher.
After 50 years of extensive research, he invented and developed a new science of health and management called Guran-Chikitsa Paddhati, which was aptly named San-Jeevan Prakrutik Chikitsa, also known as the Sanjeevan System of Constitutional Medicine. Swami Samvinanda Saraswati began researching this sustainable method of medicine in 1902. After dedicating 50 years to this work, he took Jeevanta Samadhi and incarnated himself on the 28th of May, 1954.
